For Chinese people holidays means celebration. Among such holidays comes National holidays which are declared by Government of China. National Holidays in China are celebrated by either all citizens or by a group of citizens. In China there are in total 8 National Holidays in China.
First one is “New Year Day” which is a day of grand celebration for Chinese. There is one day off on this day. In ancient times Chinese used to call this day ‘Yuandan’ which means “Beginning of next year”. They celebrate this big day in same way as all celebrate this day around the world. Second in the row comes “Spring Festival”. This is the most auspicious festival of Chinese people. This festival is as important for Chinese people as Christmas is for Christian people. It starts with first day of first lunar month & lasts for two weeks. Third one is “Women’s Day” which comes on 8th March.
